Laguna Tools History

Laguna Tools was founded in 1983 by Torben Helshoj who saw an opportunity to bring high-quality European woodworking machinery to the US. The first tools to be introduced were combination machines and soon lead to Laguna Tools’ most iconic machine, the Italian Bandsaw.

Over the years we built an extensive line of woodworking machinery before moving forward with development of our own CNC Automation.1

Laguna Tools has been with The Patriot Woodworker's since the early days. Our main contact has been Catherine Helshoj (owner) of Laguna Tools, and she takes a personal interest in the men and women who serve our nation. From one of our early projects with Catherine Helshoj and Collaborative Courts, we came together and we helped Laguna Tools raise money for an organization that takes our "in crisis" veterans off the streets, and directs them back on track.
Laguna Tools is right in the middle of all our veterans outreach project within The Patriot Woodworker, our fighting men and women of our Armed Forces have a great partner in Laguna Tools when it comes to community outreach and compassion towards our veterans.

Below is a sample list of just some of our projects in partnership with Laguna Tools. Laguna Tools either donated tools or supplies to the recipient of our projects, or they donated to The Patriot Woodworker for fund-raising.
